Case history and photos

History

The Photos below show a 4-week-old female rat born with congenital hydrocephalus. Note the obvious porportion disparity between the head and the body.

Diagnosis

Hydrocephalus.

Failure to thrive and poor motor coordination.

Treatment

Supplemental feedings were being provided to Puff to maintain weight.

Outcome

She succumbed just a few short days following these photos.

supplemental feeding with feeding syringe.

Photos 3 through 6 seen below, show size and poor coordination of 4 week old baby rat with hydrocephalus.
