Case history and photos
History
Male dumbo approximately 6 weeks old.
Clinical Signs
Presented with an injury, which resembles a contusion or sprain, while playing. A hematoma resulted from the unresolved absorption of blood at the time of the injury.
Treatment
Warm moist heat was tried without success, and because the injury was small, with no visible signs of infection, the site was cleansed with an antiseptic, and then incised with a sterile surgical blade and drained.
Outcome
Injury and hematoma resolved. No mobility impairment.
