Herbals / Health Supplements

Herbal supplements are botanical remedies that may have health benefits.

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers herbal remedies to be dietary supplements, not drugs. As a result, they are not tested for safety or efficacy.

Be aware, before giving these supplements to your rats, that some herbs may interact with prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins and minerals. Advise your veterinarian of any herbs, or health supplements, you are giving your rat if the rat will be receiving medicine.
